  • HOT & COLD COMPRESSION:- 

A hot compression will reduce pain by relaxing muscles and joints whereas a cold compression will dull the pain and also reduce swelling and inflammation of the joint.

Firstly wrap a hot water bag in a towel for hot compression. Now wrap some ice cubes in a thin towel for cold compression. Place the hot compression on the affected area for around 3 minutes. Remove it and immediately put the cold compression in its place for around 1 minute. Repeat this process for 15-20 minutes few times daily until proper relief.

  • FISH OIL:-

This oil helps reduce joint pain and stiffness in joints due to RA. Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids that have an anti-inflammatory effect and can help reduce pain. It also protects the heart from a disease which people with RA might develop.

Take up to 2.6 grams of fish oil twice a day. Include fish like tuna and salmon in the diet for better relief.

  • TURMERIC:-

To fight RA symptoms turmeric can be used. An active ingredient of turmeric,i.e, curcumin possess anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic properties and work better than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It prevents joint inflammation by blocking enzymes and cytokines that are responsible for causing inflammation.

Boil some water and add 1 tbsp of turmeric and boil for another 10 minutes. Allow it to cool down and drink it 1-2 times a day.

  • APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:-

It is rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus and thereby helps reduce pain and inflammation.

Add 1 tbsp of raw apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp of honey to a half cup of warm water. Drink it one time daily. One can also apply apple cider vinegar to the affected area. Massage warm castor oil on the affected area. Now wrap the area with a cotton cloth and cover it properly with plastic. Do this before going to bed every night.

  • GARLIC:- 

It has strong anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the production of inflammatory substances and helps reduce pain and swelling. Garlic also inhibits the formation of free radicals that cause joint damage and promotes the healthy immune system. Consume 1-2 raw garlic cloves daily.

  • EPSOM SALT:-

It is considered as a good remedy to cure rheumatoid arthritis pain and swelling. As it is a good source of magnesium, so it regulates the pH levels in the body. This reduces the stiffness, inflammation, and pain in the joints. It also helps in bone mineralization.

Add 2 cups of Epsom salt to a tub of warm water. Soak the body in this bath for 30 minutes. Do this around 3 times every week.

  • GINGER:-

It has been used to treat inflammatory disorders. Gingerol which is a compound in ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling.

Rub ginger oil on the affected area. Expose the area to the sun for 5-10 minutes to provide warmth and heat. Chew fresh ginger slices daily. Also, add ginger in the foods or drink up to 2-3 cups of ginger tea daily.

  • MASSAGE:-

Massage can relax stiff muscles and also provide relief from pain due. It will also stimulate blood circulation which relieves discomfort and inflammation.

Add 10 grams of camphor to a cup of mustard oil and heat it to dissolve the camphor. Allow to cool and then massage it on the affected area with gentle strokes. Massage the affected area 2-3 times a day for a few minutes. One can also add few drops of lavender oil to warm olive oil and use it to massage the affected area followed by gentle strokes.

  • PRIMROSE OIL:-

Primrose oil help reduce pain and morning stiffness. This oil contains an essential fatty acid known as gamma-linolenic acid which helps reduce the intensity of symptoms. Take up to 540 mg to 2.8 g in equally divided doses daily.
