DIAGNOSIS:-

The diagnostic tests and procedures for the diagnosis are:

  • Blood testing:- Blood tests reveal too much of calcium or uric acid in the blood. Blood test monitors the health of the kidneys.
  • Urine testing:- The 24-hour urine collection test shows that a person is excreting too many stone-forming minerals or too few/less stone-preventing substances. For this test, the doctor requests the person to perform two urine collections in 2 consecutive days.
  • Imaging:- This test shows the kidney stones in the urinary tract. Options are available from simple abdominal X-rays, which might miss the small kidney stones, to a high-speed or dual energy computerized tomography (CT) that reveals even the tiny stones.

  • Analysis of passed stones:- A person is asked to urinate via a strainer to catch the stones that pass. Lab analysis reveals the makeup of the kidney stones. The doctor uses this information to determine the reason for causing kidney stones and will suggest a person how to prevent them.

REMOVAL OF KIDNEY STONES:- (Kidney Stones Medicines)

Urologists remove the kidney stone and perform the kidney stone surgery or break it into the small pieces with these following treatments:

  • Shockwave lithotripsy:- The doctor uses this method to blast off the kidney stones into smaller pieces. The smaller pieces of the stone then pass through the urinary tract.
  • Cystoscopy and ureteroscopy:- In cystoscopy, the doctor uses a cystoscope to have a look inside the urethra and the bladder to find a stone in the urethra or the bladder. In ureteroscopy, the doctor uses a ureteroscope, which is much longer and thinner than a cystoscope, to see the detailed images of the lining of the urethra and the kidney. The doctor inserts the cystoscope or ureteroscope via the urethra to take a look at the rest of the urinary tract. Once the stone is visible, the doctor removes it or break it into the smaller pieces.
